The 2009 Canberra Careers Market will be held on 9.30am to 2:30pm and 4:30pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday 5th and 9.30am to 2:30pm on Thursday 6th August. All sites are now open for bookings Book early to ensure that you get your first choice of site. Bookings by schools indicated the student attendances will be equal to or greater than last year when 7,800 attendees from 41 schools in Canberra and the surrounding region attended during the day sessions. In 2008, new initiatives and greater publicity significantly increased attendance on the Wednesday evening. Special initiatives include: · Small Business and Entrepreneurs Lounge, aimed at allowing students and those considering career change, to explore the possibilities of small business and entrepreneurial activities. · Support for those seeking Career Change Advice. · Special program for International Students to attend the market. The Try'a Trade interactive program that gives participants the opportunity to try various skills and trade areas has been expanded and will be housed in a marquee outside the Marathon Room.
